Job Description
As one of the world’s
largest fully integrated energy enterprises, Saudi Aramco not only looks for
individuals who can meet our expectations, but for those individuals who can
exceed them. Our intent is to become the world’s leading integrated energy company
by 2020, and to accomplish our goals, we want and encourage you, to Dream Big.
The professional rewards at Saudi Aramco are amazing, but so too are the
lifestyle and benefits.
The Saudi Aramco Research & Development Center (R&DC) is developing a gas processing R&D program to develop technologies for natural gas upgrading, gas treatment and provide technical support for Saudi Aramco’s oil and gas plants. New production processes, integration of new materials or revamping existing plants using new materials, or a combination of these will have to be developed to fulfill the gas specification standard. This ambitious program will also compare new processes to existing ones, which requires their qualification at a pilot plant, and through techno-economic studies. A hands-on, energetic Chemical Engineer (Gas Processing) is needed for this position. The candidate is likely to have 15 to 20 years of industrial experience in a gas producing facility. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to carry out research and be prepared to work in a multidisciplinary team, as well as to operate laboratory/pilot equipment. Working experience in natural gas treatment processes would be a significant advantage. Industrial experience is an advantage, and the ability to demonstrate and carry out laboratory/pilot research and familiarity with the operation of equipment is a must. Suitable candidates will be able to perform process simulation with Hysis, ProII and Matlab. Simulation with Sulsim is an advantage. In-depth knowledge of gas plants, gas processes and process simulation is preferred, along with the ability to demonstrate gas processing expertise by means of scientific publications or trade journals and patents

About Aramco
The
Engineering & Project Management (E&PM) business line studies, plans
and oversees the construction of the Company’s new facilities, including some
of the biggest and most complex projects in the petroleum industry. Recently,
Saudi Aramco completed the largest capital program in its history that included
new or expanded oil, gas and petrochemical facilities, raising maximum
sustainable crude oil production capacity to 12 million barrels per day and
significantly increasing gas production and processing capacities. Among the
recently completed projects was the largest crude oil increment in the history
of the industry: Khurais, with a production capacity of 1.2 million barrels per
day. More challenges lie ahead, with a slate of new or expanded oil, gas,
refining and petrochemical projects in the works. E&PM also manages the
Company’s Research & Development Center where scientists investigate topics
such as the desulfurization of crude oil, advanced fuel formulations for next
generation combustion engines, and reservoir nano-scale robots (Resbots™) for
injection into reservoirs to record their properties.
