Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Corporate Laws, Code of Corporate Governance & Secretarial Affairs compliance, dealing with matters relating to Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), User of SECP E-Services module and also PUCARS of KSE & LSE.
  • Dealing with matters of shareholders, board of directors, stock exchanges, Central Depository Company (CDC) of Pakistan, State Bank of Pakistan, Commercial banks, Shares Registrar, Zakat & Usher Department (Govt. of Pakistan), External Auditors, NIFT.
  • Contracts Administration: Maintenance of legal contracts data base (Contracts Register) and ensure swift operations in contracting process, removal of bugs / problems arising in system, make further developments / improvements, service desk of Legal Assist, general advisory or guidance in contracting processes.
  • Accounting and reporting of Shares, Capital, Dividends, Taxation, Zakat and their calculations checking, Monthly and Annual Audit Schedules, NRT Reconciliation, Annual and Quarterly reports inputs and review, Annual and half yearly audits of Company Secretarial Affairs.

Key Experience Required:
  • As per Corporate Laws, at least 3-5 years’ experience in Finance / Company Secretarial / Legal Affairs Management.
  • Member of a Professional Accounting Body or Member of Institute of
  • Corporate/Chartered Secretaries or M. Com/MBA Finance or L.L.B with 2 years’ experience.

Scholarship Details
The Human Rights Research and Education Centre (HRREC) is offering a Masters scholarship of $15,000. This initiative seeks to promote research in the area of human rights. The scholarship is paid in three equal installments over a period of one year. It is available for a Canadian or international student entering the first of Masters studies in the Law (L.L.M) at the University of Ottawa and whose area of research is human rights.
Candidates must have received full-time admission to the Master’s program at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Ottawa. The candidate must demonstrate a significant interest in human rights which will be evident from her or his personal, professional and/or academic experience. Candidates are invited to consult the HRREC website in order to demonstrate in their application how they can contribute to the research activities of the Centre.

Eligibility Criteria

·         Admitted as a full-time student in a Master’s program at the Faculty of Law

·         Starting first year of study

How to Apply

Candidates must submit:

·         A cover letter confirming eligibility and outlining the candidate’s interest in the area of human rights This letter should also explain how he/she envisages contributing to the activities of the HRREC; (5 pages maximum)

·         Original transcripts, or copies of transcripts if originals were already included in the submission for admission to a Master’s program at the University of Ottawa;

·         A summary description of the thesis topic; (2 pages maximum)

·         Up-to-date curriculum vitae
